No, I'm saying that's why I'd want it raised its recharge in conjunction with the hit to Glyph. People don't seem to like the 20-25 range.

Sorry, I read it back to front.
On the subject of nerfs, still wouldn't mind seeing Mystic Regeneration only give the full 3 pips per enchantment when you have 12 points invested in Earth Prayers instead of the 8 points it is atm. No important in 8v8, but 4v4 and AB. most teams only carry a single enchant removal that recharges too slowly, there are still way too many */D tanks that almost border on griefing.
/EDIT Sorry I meant counters on the current meta bars.

IMO if they want pious to see any play, they need an elite worth running with it. If grenth were buffed even slightly, everything would blow up. Dwayna and Balth both blow for GvG. Reaper's and Wounding are both rendered useless by pious itself. The only thing even slightly viable is Lyssa or an off-proffesion elite. I don't really like lyssa; it requires that the target time casts through lyssa while they derv just sits there auto attacking. It almost seems as though they expected Coward dervs to just pop up out of nowhere. Seriously, what do they expect?

Dead things in the two formats that skill updates should definitely be based on!

If a change makes any part of the game less fun, while completely failing to make any part of the game more fun, it should be reverted.
I'm betting we'll see Pious Assault making quite the mess elsewhere soon enough. The last thing Dervishes need is more spiking power. It's easy the most "WTF were they thinking?" change since the LoD nerf or Agonizing Chop buff to 1/2 sec.

One of these days Anet is going to realize that "well, I gave it a high energy cost" doesn't really balance a wtfpwn effect. There are what, easily over 1000 skills in the game. You can bet someone can come up with a way to offset a high freaking energy cost.
Seriously, at the very least, get rid of the 1/2 sec activation time. Dervish's already have pretty good spike potential with the 3/4 activation times they have, they don't need a 1/2 second deep wound thrown in.

@ All the people freaking out about Pious Assault
1/2s activation on Pious isnt very important, its the attack immedeately following a DW that you want to be fast. (Ex. Paly using ProtStrike after Crushing Blow). Its a buff to an undesirable style of gameplay (DervSpike), and for that it should be reverted. But even in its current form I would hardly call it imba.
@ Selket
You're basically bringing back the same argument that sin-lovers used to try and defend why SPsins (modernly termed "lolsins") are acceptable parts of the game. I would have hoped we were past that, because I really dont think anyone wants to waste an hour typing up the difference again.

No you are not rite. Dervish skills are energy cost, with pious activating instantly. Means you can spike someone at very start, no need to build adrenaline (important in RA). And you can hardly spike someone down in 3 hits with warrior...With dervish and added damage from Lyssa, it is VERY possible (because every hit does 100+). And you don't have to worry about beeing spiked down, because in this case Pious Fury > Frenzy

SPsins are an acceptable part of the game, meanie.
And nothing is 'important' in RA, cuz its RA.

I have a feeling most people complaining about Pious haven't really tried it out yet. I've tested out the new one for a few hours and it hardly is the "instant kill" button many people are saying it is.

There is no damage cap, but from what I have been seeing, it is unlikely a battle will go on much longer after the Guild Lords meet in the middle.
I will be forwarding this thread to Isaiah, but please join in the conversation on his talk page as well: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User_...Update20080123
There is also a general section for overpowered skills: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User_...powered_Skills and underpowered skills: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User_...powered_Skills
I'm seeing a lot of good thoughts and suggestions, and I think they would add to the discussions on the wiki as well.

discussion on the wiki isn't much different from discussion here, your still talking to a community.

Yeah well that's pretty obious since you guys didn't manage to nerf splinter weapon. Archers don't survive more than half a minute anyway, so there's no difference.
Actually, the only difference is, that you're more than ever forced to bring splinter, because the npcs will wipe you if you don't wipe them.
Though again, that's no difference, because if you wanted to win any game balanced vs balanced, you had to have splinter anyway.
Goooood job guys!
